Research Disciplines
Our research pursuits are broadly divided into three disciplines: Gas Dynamics, Structures, and Flight Dynamics and Control. Gas dynamics encompasses the study of internal and external flows relevant to aerospace engineering, in both the compressible and incompressible regimes. Structural mechanics focuses on the study of the mechanical behavior of aerospace structures, which differ from other structures due to the highest demands for performance and light weight. Flight Dynamics and Control deals with the motion of flight vehicles in the atmosphere and in space, as well as dynamics, control, and planning issues related to flight and space applications.
