Sean Torrez wins AIAA Airbreathing Propulsion Graduate Student Award

 

Sean M. Torrez is a PhD candidate working with Prof. Driscoll in the MACCCS Center, and he won the 2011  AIAA Gordon C. Oates Air Breathing Propulsion Graduate Student Award. The official presentation of the plaque and check occurred during the San Diego AIAA Joint Propulsion Conference. Sean received his BS from MIT in 2007 and he is applying MDO methods to optimize scramjet engines for hypersonic vehicles. Sean also recently won a Rackham Graduate Student Award to integrate advanced data presentation techiques into his work.
